What Coaches and Players are saying…
I'm pretty pumped to have Coach Jody as my hitting coach. MAPP Hitting really made the difference in me getting recruited for college. I didn't have a really strong offer until I went to one of Coach Jody's private lessons to get cleaned up with my mechanics. Then we built my approach to be tailored for my swing. I went to a prospect camp at Louisville and hit really well. Now I'm going there for school and to play baseball and I got a really great financial package. And I did it as a senior. Coach Jody believed in me and my potential and then I finished it myself. He always lets you finish it yourself. I owe my scholarship to MAPP Hitting as much as my own effort. I'm a MAPP Hitter til they take my spikes away. Thanks Coach!
I was a college pitcher and I transferred to be a college hitter. I asked Jody to take a look at my swing since I hadn't hit since high school. We worked out one day and he told me four things: what I was doing well, what I needed to work on, how to work on my weak spots, and what pitches I needed to look for during my game so that I could be successful. I had a game that night for my semi-pro league team and I hit two doubles to the wall in the oppo gap. That did it for me. I kept on working his advice on my own time and went back to Jody from time to time for maintenance. He really made it easy for me to believe in my swing and my approach. I finished my college hitting career at .314 at a nationally ranked Division three school. We worked very hard on my swing and we both put the time in together. He would stay longer than he needed to if we needed to get more work done. I'm very happy that I went to him.
Basically I'm 12 years old and I want to thank Coach Jody for helping me with my swing. I was pretty good before but I got really good after just one time. I was 2 for 3 in my game with 2 liners to left field. Next we are working on home runs for me.
My swing had a 'frog' in it, like Coach Jody says. I guess that sometimes he can see really simple stuff that's wrong with your swing, because he watched me hitting and fixed my swing really fast. It took like 15 minutes. I hit cleanup all year on my high school team and got called up to varsity for the playoffs. I feel better when I hit now, plus I learned about MAPP Hitting which is hitting with a certain approach. MAPPing a pitch means beating a pitcher to a spot. I just had to go through the training. I couldn't do it at first, but I got really good at it after I worked at it. I have a few colleges that are interested in me now because of my adjustments. I gotta say thanks.
I started taking my two sons to see Jody at T's Training Academy in Lombard. My wife and I know Jody from high school so we jumped at the chance to have him work with Elijah and Noah. Jah has had the biggest leap in development. Noah is getting there but he's younger and has a longer way to go. We go to Jody's semi-private lessons on Monday nights. Can't beat $20 for the quality of coaching we get. They are working hard and getting better, that's what we wanted and we're getting it. Once they are good enough, they will go on to train in MAPP Hitting. I want to say thanks to Jody for teaching my sons how to hit. They have a great time for their 30 minute lessons with him.
I'm a travel team in Addison, IL and Coach Jody comes and works with my kids. He's a worker, man. My sons Joey and Jake get some weekly work in with him no matter what. Our teams are scoring runs and competing against full-time travel teams that draw from a much bigger area than us. We are linked to our rec league so we have a smaller base. But we do great in our tournaments and when there are issues with any of our kids I send them to Jody for hitting, or we have Jody come out to our practices and he runs our batting practice for us. He's a valuable resource for our coaches and our kids, and they all have fun. We really concentrate on getting good pitches to hit and driving them gap to gap. He's excellent with our age group (10s and 11s) and does great with relating to them.
Jody has been great with our travel teams. We have a 43 player system in Elgin, IL called the Infield A's and we signed up for Jody's gold program for MAPP Hitting. The boys worked hard in the offseason with Jody and they are scoring a lot of runs! My son Ethan has done really well. His contact rate is over 96% and his mechanics are really clean.
We hired MAPP Sports with a Bronze package last season for our boys. They came to our location in Aurora and did a fantastic job with their interaction and sent us the evaluations very promptly. We referenced the evaluations as the offseason hitting progressed and it became a very useful tool for how we conducted hitting practice. -T.J. DiGrazia
